12 Gauge Hawthorne Reliance Brand Vintage Brass Shotshell Necklace

Hard to find vintage 12 gauge shotshell features the headstamp of "Hawthorne Reliance".  A beautiful casing and a clear, strong headstamp!  You won't find any jewelry made with one of these any where else!  Guaranteed!

What makes this necklace so special is the Hawthorne Reliance 12 gauge shotshell. These were manufactured by Federal for Montgomery Ward and sold exclusively at Montgomery Ward.  How cool is that?!!  

15 years of sourcing thousands and thousands of shotshells for our jewelry-making needs, this is the first one we've come across, so we just had to create a standout design to showcase its unparalleled charm!

We bezel set the casing in a solid brass smooth edge style, and coupled it with an antique gold over tin hand etched Thai tribe star shape component to give the casing an interesting backdrop.  Finally, the casing is mounted to yet another vintage find - a solid gold over brass shiny round pendant, which gives the resulting medallion just the right depth and dimension overall.  Not to mention it makes quite a statement!

The beautiful chain is also a vintage find at 19 inches and has a nice weighty feel.  The medallion is hung from a large spring ring and the chain has a pocket watch clasp for ease in wearing, but also adds more detail to the piece. 

And if that weren't enough, we added a 32 auto charm in a gold over stainless bezel for a little extra bling!
